Great Lakes Estate Co. LLC (“Great Lakes Estate Co.,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains the personal information we collect through our website, estate and property services, online auction platform, communications, and related services; how we use and disclose that information; and the choices available to you.

When you contact us, request a consultation, or engage our services, we may collect:

• Name, email address, telephone number, and preferred contact method
• City, ZIP code, property address, or service location
• Information about a property, household contents, estate, timeline, project, or service needs
• Messages submitted through contact forms, email, telephone, or text message
• Photographs, videos, documents, or other files you choose to provide
• Appointment, estimate, proposal, agreement, project, and payment information

When you create an auction account, bid, purchase an item, or arrange pickup, we may collect:

• Name, email address, telephone number, billing address, and account information
• Email-verification status and records showing acceptance of auction terms or other policies
• Bids, maximum or proxy bids, bid timestamps, auction activity, won items, invoices, orders, and purchase history
• Payment status, transaction identifiers, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, and fraud-prevention information
• Pickup selections, pickup communications, authorized pickup representatives, and item-release records
• Sales-tax exemption documents or other information you voluntarily provide when applicable
• Customer-service messages concerning an auction, lot, invoice, payment, or pickup

Account passwords should be entered only through the designated registration or login fields. Website systems store passwords in protected, hashed form rather than as readable plain-text passwords.

Online payments are processed by Stripe and may involve payment methods or digital-wallet providers such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link. These providers may collect payment-card details, billing information, device information, and transaction data under their own privacy policies. Great Lakes Estate Co. generally does not directly receive or store complete payment-card numbers.

We may send operational messages necessary to administer an inquiry, service, account, auction, transaction, payment, or pickup. These communications are separate from optional marketing messages.

If you subscribe to auction or estate updates, we may use MailerLite or another email-service provider to manage your subscription and send messages. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link included in each message. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary account, transaction, payment, pickup, or service communications.

SMS Communications. We may collect mobile telephone numbers and records of consent when you schedule an appointment or expressly request service-related text communications. We use this information to send low-volume appointment confirmations, appointment reminders, service updates, and related customer-care messages. Message frequency varies based on your appointments and requested services. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information may be shared only with service providers that support delivery of requested communications, subject to confidentiality and data-protection obligations, or when required by law.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website secure, remember preferences, support account and checkout functions, understand website traffic, prevent fraud, and measure advertising.

• Essential cookies support security, account access, auctions, shopping-cart functions, checkout, and other requested features.
• Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the website and where improvements may be needed.
• Advertising cookies and pixels help measure campaigns and may support interest-based or targeted advertising.

You may configure your browser to block or delete cookies, although essential website, account, bidding, cart, or checkout features may not function correctly afterward. Where additional cookie or privacy controls are provided, you may use those controls to manage available preferences.

We may disclose personal information when reasonably necessary to:

• Website hosting, cloud-storage, security, analytics, advertising, email, form-processing, backup, and technology providers
• Payment processors and payment-method providers, including Stripe and applicable digital-wallet providers
• Email and communication providers, including MailerLite and transactional-email providers
• Contractors, cleaners, movers, organizers, auction personnel, sellers, real estate professionals, donation organizations, disposal providers, and other providers involved in an authorized project or transaction
• Professional advisers such as accountants, insurers, attorneys, or consultants
• Government authorities, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, safety, users, or property
• A buyer, successor, or adviser in connection with a proposed or completed sale, merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of our business

We seek to limit disclosures to information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

We do not sell personal information for monetary compensation. We may disclose device identifiers, cookie information, and website activity to analytics and advertising providers such as Google and Meta. Depending on applicable law, some of these disclosures may be considered “sharing,” targeted advertising, or a “sale” even though we do not receive money in exchange.

Where applicable law provides an opt-out right, we will honor verified requests and available browser- or website-based privacy choices as required.

Google and Facebook Sign-In. If you use Google or Facebook to register, sign in, or link an account, the provider may send us your provider identifier, name, email address, and profile image. We use this data to create, connect, secure, and support your account and operate auctions and checkout. We do not receive your Google or Facebook password. Disconnecting a provider does not delete your Great Lakes Estate Co. account. To request deletion of your account and associated social-login data, email support@greatlakesestate.com. We may retain transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, and other records as permitted by law. Authentication and Other Third-Party Providers include Google for sign-in, analytics, advertising, and wallet services; Meta for Facebook sign-in and advertising; Stripe for payments; and MailerLite for email subscriptions. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Our website and auction services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract to create an auction account or bid. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at support@greatlakesestate.com and we’ll delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy as our website, services, technology, or business practices change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, account, or other reasonable means when appropriate.
